Why TEFL Is teaching right for me?

Is teaching right for me?

"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge."

Albert Einstein

Being an English teacher is not something to underestimate. It is not something that you can just jump right into. It requires the proper training and experience.

Here are some questions to reflect on on:

Why do you wish to teach?

What do you consider to be the most important aspect of teaching English to a foreigner?

What languages do you speak?

Have you ever worked abroad?

In what capacity?

Do you enjoy sharing your knowledge and passion (whatever the subject) with other people?

Do you enjoy talking with people with very different backgrounds, professions, and interests to you?

What are you hoping to most get out of teaching?

What are you most worried about in terms of teaching?

What skills do you already have, that you think will help you as a teacher?

Are you patient?

If not, could you learn to be?

Think of teachers you have had in the past that you admired. What qualities did they have that you would like to emulate?

Have you ever had any bad teachers? How did they make you feel?
